UFG is currently seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator to Install, configure, maintain, and perform intermediate troubleshooting of new and existing infrastructure and networking technologies, including but not limited to Windows server, PC, Linux, and application software of moderate complexity.  Maintain stable operation of company infrastructure and provide optimal performance across UFG’s Locations.  Follow best practices for configuration, maintenance, and security of Infrastructure hardware/software.  Communicate to other teams as necessary any projects requiring downtime and any issues that may arise.  Provide monitoring and reporting for all aspects of the company network infrastructure and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform hardware and software administration in compliance with best practices and coordination with other team members.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain UFG’s Servers including configuring and installing new and patching existing systems.
  • Interact with vendors to solve network issues.
  • Participate in the integration and testing of complex large-stale computer systems and networks.
  • Maintain and recommend improvements to policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.
  • Identify complex issues and work with senior team members for resolution.
  • Asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Monitor and test hardware and software performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
  • Work with senior team members on infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with external groups when appropriate for resolution to systems as they occur.
  • Maintain timely status reports.
  • Understand emerging and current technology and identify solutions to meet business needs.
  • Provide Tier 1 (basic) support for hardware and software.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • Maintain an understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity testing.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Associate’s degree in computer science, related technical field preferred.

Certifications/Designations:

  • Employees are expected to participate in continuing education throughout their careers.
  • A+, Network+, Microsoft or similar Certification preferred.

Experience:

  • 3+ years’ work experience maintaining and/or troubleshooting servers – both software and hardware.
  • 3+ years’ work experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server products.
  • 2+ years’ work experience with network and infrastructure analysis tools.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Large scale vendor management experience preferred.
  • Experience with VMWare preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • General Office Environment.
  • Regular work duties may require work outside of regular business hours.
  • Up to 20% time bending, reaching, and crawling when installing/trouble shooting equipment.

Knowledge:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Operations Systems
  • Intermediate working knowledge of virtualization
  • Intermediate working knowledge of network security standards configuration of network hardware/software.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of network subnetting, IP addressing schemes, IP routing.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Citrix.
