UCT is looking for a talented Quality Inspector II to join us in Hayward, CA! The Quality Inspector II blends process auditing, QMS project support and quality sustaining responsibilities to make sure that products meet standards of quality and safety. Quality Inspectors I and II may be assigned to a specific process area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Audit.
  • Assess compliance to procedures and standards through process audits, prepare formal audit reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Assess effectiveness of final visual inspection through part and finished goods audits.
  • Participate as team member to develop strategies to improve product quality.
  • QMS Project Support.
  • Support plant-wide calibration program, including preparing gauges and instruments for calibration, assessing calibration results for OOT conditions, and managing calibration records.
  • Support ambient monitoring of cleanrooms.
  • Quality Sustaining Activities.
  • Complete action items associated with audit findings, as assigned.
  • Validate actions taken to address audit findings.
  • Enter and monitor data from Certificates of Analysis for purchased chemicals.
  • Other activities as requested.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to read and apply production instructions and standards.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications and database software.
  • Basic math abilities.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or equivalent.
  • High School Diploma/equivalent, AA degree preferred.

 

Experience Requirement:

 Work Experience:

  • 4+ years working in production environment. Experience working in a cleanroom preferred.

  • Ability to move arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Required to have visual acuity to perform assigned tasks.

 

Environmental Exposure:

  • Required to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Subject to hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, exposure to chemicals and debris.
  • Required to have visual acuity to perform assigned tasks.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $19.18 and $28.75/hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including variable pay and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO (Paid Time Off) and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these additional compensation and benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
