The department has made recent hires in computer security, computer systems, computer vision, natural language processing, and cyber-physical systems. In addition to excellent support for new faculty, there is a long-standing tradition of encouraging and fostering collaborative research both inside the department and across the university, including extensive collaboration with biological sciences and the medical school.
