KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive continuous improvement in the value stream.
- Manage and deliver and actively participate in Gemba
- Partner with support departments to update and create standard work (Work Instructions) when necessary.
- Train operators and ensure they follow detailed WIs, processes, and procedures to correctly produce products from the value stream.
- Responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in a positive and constructive manner.
- Confers with other supervisors to ensure the production schedule and commitments are maintained.
- Partner with the quality, engineering, and maintenance departments to ensure problems with quality, processes, equipment, or materials are resolved correctly in a timely manner.
- Take corrective action on deviations.
- Analyze key issues affecting the value stream and initiate action plans.
- Highlight critical issues in the value stream to operations leadership.
- Partner with internal customers and suppliers to ensure orders are delivered on time.
- Oversee the scheduling, production, and inspection required per the value stream.
- Complete Daily Metric Tracker, scrap records, training records and other documentation as required.
- Complete production reporting of work orders to ensure accuracy of component inventory.
- Studies production work schedules and estimates employee hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production/department schedules and goals.
- Uphold 5S requirements and maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Ensure a safe place to work.
- Support communication by having daily pre-shift huddles.
- Daily management of employee issues and problem resolution.
- Ensure good teamwork among value stream employees.
- Improve morale and motivation through implementation.
- Complete annual performance reviews for operators in area of responsibility.
- Comply with the policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements of the TCF Quality System.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED (required) Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- Familiarity with ISO9001 requirements
- 2 - 5 years leading or supervising other,
- Proven ability to effectively lead and direct the work of others, and delegate as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as policies and procedures, work instructions and standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Meticulous record-keeping capability.
- Excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee information. This includes, but is not limited to: performance, illness, investigations and personal information.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and personnel with little to no supervision.
- High level of initiative and flexibility in adapting to changing needs of a dynamic work environment.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND REQUIRED TRAINING
The following certifications and training, if required, will be provided by the company:
- Forklift Certificate
- Bridge Crane Training
- Fall Protection Training
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
To successfully perform the essential function of this position, employees must have the ability to:
- Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Continuously or as needed, stand; walk; use hands to finger, ability to reach with hands and arms above shoulder height; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl in small spaces.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is continuously exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles and/or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
