Job Description
TCI-Mt. Vernon is looking for a Truck Sales Representative to join our team! The Truck Sales Representative is responsible for selling new and pre-owned trucks to a variety of customers, from large business operations and municipalities to individual owner operators, within an assigned territory. This role cultivates new prospects and grows existing customer accounts with their extensive product knowledge and customer service skills to achieve individual and collective goals. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Develop leads and engage customers to recommend, select, and distinguish features of new or pre-owned vehicles based upon customer needs and requirements.
- Prepare equipment specification and pricing proposals for both current and prospective customer presentations.
- Demonstrate new and pre-owned vehicles, system features, and conduct test drives to showcase units and illustrate distinguishing features or differences.
- Understand F&I options available that meet customers’ unique needs.
- Oversee the truck delivery process from time of order through final delivery acceptance by customer.
- Deliver vehicle(s) to customers and review vehicle’s operating features, paperwork, and warranty for a satisfactory customer experience.
- Maintain an owner follow-up system to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Maintain a prospect development system that includes prospect locators and sales associates.
- Collaborate with Parts and Service departments to ensure a satisfactory customer service experience with the quality and availability of parts offerings, service appointments, and repairs.
- Continually update knowledge of new products and technological changes in products and within the industry to proactively determine customer benefits of products, updates, features, and technologies.
- Maintain familiarity with competitors’ product offerings, features, prices, and trading practices.
- Establish personal sales goals and projections consistent with company standards of productivity and develop a strategy to achieve benchmarks.
- Conduct productivity and time utilization self-audits on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Valid CDL and DOT medical card with ability to meet insurance requirements is required
- 2+ years of experience in a related sales or dealership function; automotive or trucking experience is highly preferred
- Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills to proactively resolve issues and present best solutions to common issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and commitment to exceptional customer service
- Knowledge of computer operations and MS Office, including Excel proficiency
- Friendly, pleasant demeanor to engage with customers and team members
- Dependable, collaborative team member with the ability to thrive independently, even in times of stress
- Ability to drive vehicles during test drives
