Position Summary
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about applying their depth of project/program management experience for the Department of Defense (DoD) Test Resource Management Center (TRMC).
The selected candidate will work on site in Crystal City (Arlington) VA. The person in this role will be responsible for leading and setting the tone for project team efforts that span the range of project management functions.
This is an exciting opportunity for a successful applicant to enable the customers work with the DoD’s test environments. This role will require disciplined application of project management skills and interaction with the customer across multiple technology areas. In this role, the candidate must be flexible to the customer’s needs and innovative in applying their skills in a dynamic environment.
What You’ll Do
- The Project Manager shall be responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
- Provide technical and analytical guidance to project team.
- Develop and execute acquisition strategies on behalf of the government customer to execute program management balancing cost, schedule and performance across a range of technology development initiatives.
- Develop and refine contracting documentation on behalf of the government customer to enable the government to award innovative contracts that mature technology across a range of disparate technologies.
- Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in meetings across multiple time zones with a variety of stakeholders and summarize the proceedings.
- Prepare and staff international documentation on behalf of the government customer to enable execution of international project arrangements.
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of all other complimentary and competitive technology maturation initiatives across the Department of Defense.
- Prepare papers, presentations, reports, and administrative packages on program management support issues in response to direction from TRMC leadership.
- Travel for approximately 6-7 trips per year. (10-15%)
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Project/Program Management in the acquisition/development/release for DOD platforms
- Solid analytical skills based on work experience.
- Excellent verbal, written communications, and interpersonal skills along with a professional appearance and countenance.
- Comfortable interacting with high level individuals and functions well independently and in a fast paced, high pressure team environment.
- Ability to take projects from original concept through final implementation.
- Ability to travel (10-15%) mostly CONUS in the National Capital Region.
- Proficient in Microsoft Professional Office Suite in a Windows environment.
- U.S. Citizenship and an Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
- DAWIA level III Certification in Program Management (no substitutes)
Desired Education and Experience:
- Served in at least one Critical Acquisition Position; Chartered Product/Project Manager Preferable.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or project management field from an accredited college or university.
- Service in the Pentagon for more than 12 months.
- Work in the Electromagnetic Warfare domain or with radar systems.
- Ability to work and interact across the Military Departments and multiple offices of the Secretary of Defense as well as industry and private citizens at a senior level.
- Comfortable simultaneously working a variety of disparate issues in a fluid environment.
