Summer 2024 Internship - 40 hours/week - up to 12 weeks, starting late May.  Candidates must be local to Northern Colorado for consideration.

 About Analytical Development

 Analytical Development is part of Research & Development.  This team provides analytical testing and characterization support to develop new products and closely works with quality and regulatory teams. The typical tasks in Analytical development are characterization using variety of advanced analytical techniques, variety of testing support for formulation development teams, method development, validations, transfers, setting up or justifying specifications, stability testing, regulatory modules write up and responding agency deficiencies etc. In short, Analytical Development has wide responsibilities that create a challenging, yet extremely rewarding fast-paced work environment.

 Proposed Work Description

Core Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The nature of business is that priorities can shift according to the needs of the company/department needs. Therefore, the work described below is a sampling of the kinds of work we expect this position to entail:

  •  Work with scientists/manager to support ongoing and applicable development projects.
  • Assist managers/scientists in identifying opportunities for increasing department efficiency.
  • Assist with general laboratory tasks such as cleaning of glassware, pipettes, balance verifications, ordering lab supplies, checking in samples, and archiving of notebooks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques.
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand complex systems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Willingness to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently as well as co-operatively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical analytical labs and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) with interest in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.

Education & Experience

  •  Successful completion of “Introduction to Analytical Chemistry” 300 level lab and coursework.
  • Pursuing a degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.
  • Have achieved an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay: $19.00 per hour
  • Eligibility for medical benefits and company 401k

Tolmar compensation programs are focused on equitable, fair pay practices including market-based base pay and a strong benefits package. The final compensation offered may vary from the posted range based on the selected candidates qualifications and experience. 

Working Conditions

  •  Work is performed primarily in a laboratory environment but could include office, clean room, or production floor.
  • Dress is casual but business- or business-casual dress may be required on occasion.
