Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serves as clinical/medical affairs expert for Tolmar Products
  • Identifies and develops long term productive relationships with thought leaders and professional organizations in therapeutic areas relevant to the Company’s business
  • Addresses identified needs of key stakeholders by providing live or virtual clinical presentations, holding one-on-one discussions and engaging in peer-peer scientific exchange to provide accurate, relevant and compliant medical and scientific support
  • Executes the Medical Affairs strategic scientific program in alignment with the North American Medical Affairs team
  • Helps create and edit medical and scientific content of documents and presentations used by Medical Affairs for various clinical audiences
  • Assist in publication plan and use of abstracts/posters at scientific congresses to validate the effectiveness and safety of products or expand scientific understanding of commercial products by fostering local and/or national research and educational opportunities as an extension of Medical Affairs resources, if and when appropriate
  • Attends scientific congresses and monitors published literature to stay abreast of current topics and competitive products
  • Ascertains clinical unmet needs and critical competitive intelligence through one-on-ones, group presentations and attendance at medical meetings and appropriately communicates information back
  • Reviews Investigator Initiated Research and Independent Grant requests for scientific integrity and alignment with corporate priorities
  • Is capable of working independently and cross-functionally to execute Medical Affairs strategy
  • Works with Product Support team to create custom medical information letters for medical and product inquiries
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of disease state, clinical information, and product data within the therapeutic area.
  • Effectively communicates scientific and medical information to both internal and external networks
  • Attend national congresses and meetings and, as requested, provide medical and scientific booth support in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of therapeutic areas, clinical information, and product data within the company’s portfolio
  • Maintain current clinical and professional certifications, if applicable
  • Complies with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Follows all Company rules and regulations, including health and safety rules
  • Successfully interacts with employees at all levels and in a matrix organization
  • Regular, reliable performance of all job duties and performs all other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, eg. Ph.D., PharmD,
  • Prior experience in Medical Affairs and/or as a MSL
  • 5+ years work outside of clinical or academic
  • Excellent communication, cross cultural collaboration skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to influence multifunctional teams across local and global organization
  • Experience interacting with marketing and sales departments
  • Experience in urology, oncology or pediatric endocrinology preferred

 

Education & Experience

  • Advanced degree in life sciences, eg. Ph.D., PharmD or mid-level provider
  • 5+ years work outside of clinical or academic
  • Excellent communication, cross cultural collaboration skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to influence multifunctional teams across local and global organization
  • Experience interacting with KOL’s, and where appropriate Field Sales
  • Must be able to read, understand and communicate in English
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to solve practical problems

Working Conditions

  • Office environment; requiring sitting and standing
  • Travel as needed to meet business and customer expectations (30-50%)

Compensation

Tolmar compensation programs are focused on equitable, fair pay practices including market-based base pay and a strong benefits package. The final compensation offered may vary from the posted range based on the selected candidates qualifications and experience.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between ($183,200 and $274,800/year); however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities.
