Your Impact
As a retail food service manager, your impact is felt in multiple facets crucial to the success of the business. Through meticulous oversight of daily operations, including inventory management, staff training, and customer service standards, you will ensure seamless functionality that drives not only revenue growth but exemplifies our mission, values and culture by fostering customer loyalty.
Job Specific Duties
- Oversees the daily operations of the department including kitchen and cafe. Assures customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance. This includes, but is not limited to budgetary limitations, sanitation and safety requirements, departmental policies and procedures, and departmental standards and staffing.
- Processes cash reconciliation for the Cafe to maintain accurate accounting practices.
- Assists in purchasing food and supplies.
- Actively assists the director with employee interviews, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Monitors staff daily to ensure all systems, protocols, and quality assurance tools are utilized correctly.
- Assists in menu adjustments to meet customer preferences, seasonal variations, and cost objectives.
- Conducts routine rounds of the cafeteria and dining area to assure customer satisfaction and promote a positive departmental image.
- Ensures employee practices meet HACCP, sanitation, and infection control standards.
- Has knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Ensures employee practices comply with those standards.
- Follows the human resource policies and procedures of the facility. Treats employees with fairness and respect.
- Performs duties in other areas of the department as needed.
- Assists with orientation and training of staff. May be required to present in-service trainings.
- Serves as a role model for employees by maintaining standards of appearance, attendance, and meal breaks.
- Enforces safety standards with employees.
- Ensure meal services start on time; display plates present, temperatures taken and staff are knowledgeable of menu items. Ensure pre-service checks are completed, and assist chefs with menu planning, production and monitoring food waste.
- Interacts with other department staff and promotes food service in a positive manner.
What you will need
- Proven experience in food service retail sales and management, preferably in a healthcare environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Proficiency in retail math and inventory control
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of recruiting practices for retail positions
- Familiarity with sales management techniques
- ServSafe® Certification and State Food Handlers Card
- Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
- Ability to provide documents for work authorization. We utilize E-Verify, an online system that allows us to confirm the eligibility of our employees to work in the United States.
- High School Diploma/GED
