Location/Division Specific Information

This role is focused on service delivery excellence for Unity Lab Services – a division of Thermo Fisher responsible for providing on-site services at customers locations. We provide services at over 400 customer sites globally! This position directly supports our on-site clients by facilitating Chemical Management services – interacting daily with lab end users, managing chemical stockrooms, delivering chemicals, and other services to support chemical operations.

This position is located in Thousand Oaks, CA.

A day in the Life:

  • Perform daily duties that include, but not limited to, conducting monthly chemical inventory scanning for applicable chemical locations, chemical inventory reconciliation, and metric reporting to maintain entire system database
  • Subject matter expert (SME) that conducts monthly communication to and meetings with clients (EHS, R&D, QAL, Ops) and management team supporting the site chemical inventory
  • Performing specific tasks may include receipt and registration of chemicals into the system database, radioactive management tasks, controlled substance management, providing system training to clients and team, and area audits.
  • Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned by team lead, site supervisor, and/or management team.
  • Follow procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOP’s, and Work Instructions.

Keys to Success:

Education

·High school diploma or equivalent required

·Associate Degree in scientific field or 2+ years of relevant lab experience preferred

Experience

  • 1-2 years customer service preferred
  • Experience in laboratory and in GXP environments preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must be proficient with a computer and the Microsoft Office suite of software with proficiency in Excel highly valued
  • Strong communication, written, and presentation skills
  • Listens to customer concerns and identify course of action to reach a resolution
  • Detail oriented, problem solver, promotes positive team environment
  • Promotes personal growth and development by introducing new policies and improvements
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible and changing schedule

Working Conditions:

  • May be required to work independently at customer location
  • Extensive walking may be required for 75-85% of the day
  • May be necessary to lift, push and pull 40 pounds consistently; may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Personal protective equipment may be worn that include face mask, lab coats, safety glasses, safety shoes, and/or safety gloves

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $19.66–$29.48.
