We are looking for a technical mechanical engineering lead to apply engineering knowledge and skills for sophisticated engineering projects that focus on design, development, reliability, and the most efficient utilization of Automation, equipment, materials, facilities, processes, and people in order to produce products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, prototype and build automated manufacturing equipment
  • Lead and complete projects or programs of large size, scope, and duration
  • Coordinate project work with other engineers, technicians, designers and/or or drafters
  • Develop project plan, schedules and work plans, estimate resources and costs, and track and report documents
  • Maintain continuous alignment of project scope with defined strategic business objectives
  • Monitor progress of projects, identify problems impeding progress, and participate in their resolution
  • Proactively lead changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Troubleshoot, research, analyze, identify, evaluate, design, propose, implement, and document engineering solutions that affect products, processes, components, assemblies, and/or equipment
  • Collaborate with business leaders through production personnel and other departments to gather information and draft reports, and improve equipment, processes, and products
  • Create test parameters and participate in the testing and implementation of engineering solutions
  • Identify broad conceptual ideas, develop and implement them into useful solutions
  • Establish continuous improvement plans where efficiency, quality, safety, or service can be improved
  • Be an active member of the Engineering Leadership team.
  • Mentor other team members

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred but not required
  • 8 years of related experience
  • Solidworks software experience is must
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of and experience using project management methodologies and software (Agile Scrum preferred)
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Experience with ISO 9001, 13485 and or GMP, preferred
  • Experience with V&V
  • Experience drafting specification documents required
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Ability to successfully prioritize, and organize projects and tasks with little supervision in both team and independent environments
  • Excellent verbal and written skills are vital in order to communicate intricate job-related processes
  • Demonstrated competence in engineering techniques and fundamentals
  • Proficiency in the use of engineering techniques, equipment and materials
  • Up to 40% domestic and international travel
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Illinois is $130,000.00–$194,950.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
