. Job Title: Cost Accountant
Department: MA6101 Finance
Reporting Relationship: Cost Accounting Manager
B. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform intermediate-level accounting work requiring the use of professional concepts
- Analyze data, prepare journal entries and reconcile ledger accounts
- Perform various close responsibilities related to COGS and variances
- Maintain standard costs for multiple locations ( Madison and NA Comm Ops)
- Provide detailed analysis of PPV for Purchasing Team
- Perform periodic audits WIP inventory and cycle count inventory results
- Assist with annual budget process
- Assist with all financial audits
- Various other projects/duties as assigned
C. Decision Making Authority
- Authorize adjustments to the general ledger in connection with cost center/ profit center review
- Authority regarding routine inventory/costing and compliance issues
D. Specific Scope Data
- Responsible for maintaining accurate standard costs for Madison and NA Comm Ops
- Responsible for accounting for manufacturing and customer support cost and inventory reporting
- Responsible for meeting deadlines for monthly close process
E. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting plus two to five years experience, or equivalent desired
- CPA or CMA a plus

- Written and verbal communication skills
- Appreciation and understanding of outside department functions (manufacturing, engineering,

- Computer skills, especially MicroSoft Excel, Word and Access. SAP or other ERP system experience a plus
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
