The Program Manager is a technical and highly motivated strategic leader responsible for leading the development and commercialization of solutions and products for the semiconductor fabs. This leader will lead all parts of high-complexity programs within the Semiconductor Business Unit (BU), working with all functions within the organization as well as customers to ensure accurate definition and successful execution of new product introductions and product improvement programs.

The role will ensure the cross-functional program teams follow product development/program management standard methodologies, implement specific regulatory requirements (as needed), and ensure that design control standards are met. The role will be responsible to drive program budget and schedule adherence in addition to overall project execution. This role will report within the Program Management Team for Fab Solutions.

A Day in the Life:

  • Responsible for guiding the definition and the execution plan of capital equipment programs within Fab Solutions according to the company development process, schedules and budget.
  • Provide leadership to program teams instilling a passion for success.
  • Detailed schedule analysis of critical paths to identify key technical and schedule risks and establishing mitigation activities.
  • Assess project/program performance. Identify issues, risks and institute corrective actions proactively.
  • Interact with peers, functional groups and customers; create and present reports and project updates to the BU Leadership and customers on a routine basis.
  • Partner with Product Marketing and management to develop long-term strategic plans to increase and improve our business opportunities. Challenge proposals, plans, assumptions and strategy and offer alternatives to reduce risk and increase overall business success.

Keys to Success:

EDUCATION

  • BS in Physics, Engineering, Project Management or related field is required, MS or Ph.D. highly desired.
  •  8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and an advanced degree or equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience developing complex semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Semiconductor fab experience and metrology equipment experience strongly desired.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize based on needs and constraints.
  • Strong sense of responsibility for all aspects of program success.
  • Record of building consensus among key stakeholders not under your direct management chain, proactively identify and resolve conflicting requirements in both technical and resource domains.
  • Proven track record of responding promptly to customers issues and prioritizing their requests appropriately.
  • Experience in using standard program management tools including development plans, timelines, risk management, and budget analysis and monitoring as needed.
  • Outstanding organizational, planning, process development, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with and communicating effectively (listen, speak, present and write) to all levels of management and building working relationships with others outside of the project team.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate across multiple cultures strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
  • Experience implementing Critical Chain methodology in development projects is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile development methods and their implementation for hardware and experience with SAFe is desired.
