The Nord Center is GROWING and seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to join our team. As an essential member of the multidisciplinary team, you will provide outpatient psychiatric services and treatment oversight for adult clients experiencing severe and persistent behavioral health disorders in a community mental health setting. You will have access to consult with licensed clinicians across multiple specialties including counselors, nurses, case managers, and peer supporters. The Psychiatrist serves an integral role on the ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) Team. A Full-time or part-time position is available. Flexible schedules are available.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Performs psychiatric evaluations on new patients who have received a clinical diagnostic assessment or as clinically appropriate
  • Incorporates the new or revised medical treatment plan into the existing Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Maintains necessary and required concurrent documentation within the EHR.
  • Participates in the rotating on call schedule in support of clinical staff.
  • Collaborates with Advanced Practice Nursing staff as assigned.
  • Conducts Peer Review activities as required.
  • Attends Psychiatric, Clinical and other Agency meetings as required.
  • Must work collaboratively with staff to coordinate care to patients that promotes client empowerment and choice, while incorporating interpersonal skills that reflect and support TIC (Trauma-Informed Care) training.
  • Must complete documentation required to assist clients as clinically indicated

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must hold a valid, unrestricted Medical License in the State of Ohio and DEA License.
  • Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry is preferred.
  • Must meet all requirements as set forth by licensing and accrediting bodies as well as ODMH, CARF, and the Lorain County MHARS.
  • Must have basic computer skills and excellent documentation skills.
  • Must be eligible to be paneled by private insurers, Medicaid, and Medicare.
  • Must be able to effectively work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Experience in community or emergency psychiatry.
