Job Description

Summary
The Assistant Front Desk Manager assists the Front Office Manager to direct the activities of the Front Desk staff, manages guest issues & resolution and acts as MOD, and assists in maximizing room revenues and room availability control.

The budgeted salary range for this position is $65,000-$72,500. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all of our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions 
•    Report for work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner
•    Manages a team of five Front Desk Agents and two Managers on Duty (supervisors)
•    Hires, onboards, trains, and coaches supervised team members to Forbes Five Star and AAA Five Diamond standards, ensuring the best guest experience for every guest, every time
•    Weekly scheduling of Front Desk staff according to hotel occupancy and needs, and accurate labor reporting
•    Evaluate staff per assigned time frames per Aspen Hospitality
•    Ensure payroll administration is accurate and timely
•    Assist with preparation of weekly & monthly reporting
•    Keep all personnel up to date on policies and procedures relative to their areas
•    Crosstrain staff between different departments and develop SOPs during slow season
•    Covers three to four shifts per work week as MOD 
•    Acts as MOD during guest and security situations, and handles and resolves guest issues and complaints in a timely manner
•    Ensure the smooth functioning of registrations, cashiering, and billing at the Front Desk
•    Work with overnight staff and Security to ensure follow-up on any problems, guest requests, etc.
•    Review every arriving guest reservation, compile VIP information, and share preferences across departments
•    Work with Reservations to block room availability, room types, etc. to maximize revenues and occupancy
•    Work with Group Coordinator and Events on room assignments, group arrivals, room blocks, departures and supervise group billing and execution within two days of checkout
•    Work with Guest Experience Managers to manage VIP & luxury suite guest experience, and assist in their absence
•    Assist Front Office Manager with certain responsibilities and projects as delegated

Qualifications

•    Excellent written and spoken English
•    Excellent computer literacy
•    College degree preferred
•    1-2 years of supervisory experience in hospitality required
•    Luxury hospitality and prior management experience preferred

Supervision Given and Received 
Given: Exercises general supervision over Front Desk Staff. Assigns a variety of routine tasks, sets general expectations of results expected within company’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Received: Works under supervision of the Front Office Manager. Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing strategical methods to attain them. Can formulate policies but does not necessarily have final authority for approval. Review of work is not detailed and emphasizes accomplishment of broad work objectives, rather than specific assignments. 

Work Environment and Physical Demands
•    Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements 
•    No adverse or hazardous conditions
•    Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance
