- Communicate effectively with Sales and Account Management team members.
- Prepare customer’s files for: size, image resolution, bleeds, overprints, font issues, and color breaks
- Maintain quality control during all prepress processes, reading and understanding work instructions, proper documentation, and procedures Verify provided artwork will reproduce to customer expectations.
- Maintain a workflow schedule and communicate status regularly to internal customers.
- Process and build files for production.
- Determine and create page layouts, while accounting for folds, trims, and die cuts as necessary.
- Work with various graphic design and layout software applications commonly used on Mac OS
- Perform quality checks on finished hard and PDF proofs before releasing to manufacturing.
- Process incoming customer data for production of variable print projects.
- Standardize incoming address data to meet USPS regulations and production needs.
- Analyze data to determine relations and trends to make decisions on production needs.
- Develop variable print templates merging customer artwork with data files
- Resolve incoming artwork and data file issues using defined preflight process
- Address project design needs for optimized printing on planned output devices
- Confirm that design meets current USPS regulations when applicable
- Prepare artwork and data for incorporation with variable template
- Develop imposition strategy based off production plan
- Compose PDF audit files to proof artwork, data mapping and programing
- Print and assemble hard copy proofs when applicable
- Incorporate customer requested corrections and changes
- Compose print ready files for planned output devices
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma and currently enrolled in or completed a degree in printing technology, digital media or graphic design.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Basic math skills
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, Excel and Internet applications
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably Monarch)
- BCC Mail Manager, Quadient Inspire, SQL, Adobe Creative Suite
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
- 1+ year experience doing art prep work in print industry
- Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping.
- Frequent standing for prolonged periods of time
- Frequent walking
- Ability to lift, pull, push up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to visually inspect all work for defects.
- Manual dexterity for repetitive work
The national pay range for this role is $14.00 to $17.00 per hour. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
