Description
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Digital Innovation, the Technical Project Manager will coordinate aspects of implementation of interactive development including design, testing and support. They will coordinate cross-departmental digital projects, including assisting in drafting work plans, writing contracts and statements of work, managing digital element and exhibition production, website content editing, tracking web development requests, and drafting papers and presentations, as well as managing the various technical projects relating to Digital Innovation and Technology Services. This includes coordinating project schedules, working collaboratively with museum staff across departments, and liaising with outside vendors. Additionally, tracking and reporting success through analytics.
Requirements and Key Competencies
- BS degree with proven ability to learn quickly, lead teams and projects.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of UX, UI, software development, and/or experience working with technology and digital content
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to distill and communicate complex technical concepts for non-technical parties.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- Comprehensive high-level understanding of business project management
- Familiarity with collection management systems or art history and/or museums.
- Proficient in designing formal presentations in PowerPoint
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the museum’s digital strategy and current technological infrastructure. Apply that knowledge to the museum’s short and long-term goals to facilitate optimized workflow and understanding between departments.
- Identify and advocate for creative technological solutions to further the museum’s goals, that align with established digital strategy objectives and the museum’s strategic plan and budget goals.
- Co-Manage cross-departmental digital projects, including administration and organization of project workspaces, scheduling meetings and calls with internal and external collaborators, and distributing agendas and minutes.
- Participate materially in drafting contract specifications to ensure language clearly and concisely specifies desired outcomes.
- Rigorously test and analyze vendor deliverables to verify consistency with specifications.
- Perform system administration tasks for app/interactive support as necessary.
- Co-lead the cross-departmental web editing team and communicating development requests to web developer.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts to understand and share analytics (i.e. Google) for all technology systems, such as website, apps and interactives, and video projects, in order to support research and leadership-level decision-making for digital projects.
- Collaborate with Digital Technology Directors to maintain departmental strategies and budgets.
- Collaborate with CDIO and Assistant Director of Digital Innovations on drafting all press, presentations, award submissions and papers related to outward facing digital projects.
- Perform administrative tasks for CDIO, including managing schedule and external correspondence.
