Position Overview: 

The Teen Choice (TC) Educator is responsible for the implementation of the Teen Choice groups within designated partner agency host sites in New York City, Westchester, and Long Island. Group schedules are fluid and flexible, depending upon the scheduling needs at each site. The practitioner will offer small group – mutual aid guidance, based upon the Teen Choice pregnancy prevention/risk reduction model, in the context of youth development and asset-building, focusing on the strengths of our youth and their families.

Position Qualifications:

A Bachelors Degree with at least two years’ experience working with youth in any setting or a related master’s degree and experience working with youth who have emotional/behavioral/psychiatric issues. Must have demonstrated knowledge of and/or experience in small group work, child development, adolescent sexual health education, safety and consent, learning styles of special- needs youth, and family dynamics. Candidate must be willing to travel in NYC, Westchester and Long Island. A valid NYS Driving License and vehicle is required. A commitment to work from a strengths-based, bias-free perspective. Ability to work with culturally diversified individuals. Possess excellent organizational, verbal, written and communication skills. Ability to promote a positive and enthusiastic work environment. Computer literate with knowledge of Word and Excel.

Salary: $24.7252 hourly (Flat Rate)
