Position Overview: 

Our Second Chance program is a FREE alternative-to-detention service for teens with legal troubles and/or court mandated requirements to enroll and engage in specialized social services. We offer 4-10 sessions of workshops and/ or individual counseling, designed to best serve the individual needs of each youth. Sessions focus on discussing current offense, court involvement, understanding charges, and how to avoid reoffending. Social workers meet with youth and families in their communities or other designated location.

Position Qualifications:

New York State Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Equivalent degrees of LMHC, Master’s in Forensic Psychology or Masters in Criminal Justice with at least two years’ experience working with youth in a forensic or juvenile setting or youth/young adults with criminal justice involvement. Candidate must be a skilled communicator able to work in a multi-disciplinary setting and maintain strong relationships with multiple agencies and organizations both onsite and in the community. Ability to write in a clear and detailed manner. Must have strong analytical skills. Must be available for in person sessions.

Salary: $68,000 (Flat Rate)
