Description

At The Children’s Village, we are focused on helping children, teens and their families succeed. We are committed to understanding their  needs and delivering evidence-informed treatments, supports and life coaching  to meet these needs.

Position Overview:

The Recreation Specialist will plan, implement and encourage youth engagement in structured and therapeutic recreation programs.  The Recreation Specialist will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and participate in team meetings to receive and provide feedback on youth  functioning during activities and programs.   The Recreation Specialist will develop programs that address youth’s therapeutic goals and build on their strengths through physical fitness, arts and crafts,  dance, meditation/yoga,  teamwork and problem solving.

Position Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Recreation Therapy or related field, required or 4 years of experience providing educational or therapeutic/recreational activities for youth. Experience leading recreation or work training programs, 1 year minimum. CTRS certification or eligible, preferred. Personal Trainer certification, preferred. Lifeguard Training, preferred. Expertise (through course work or experience) in one of the following areas:  Sports, Therapeutic Recreation, Outdoor Adventure or youth employment training, preferred.

Salary: $39,258.45-$45,147.22
