Sage Rehabilitation Hospital is hiring for Dietary Cook to prepare meals for patients, employees and visitors.
Requirements:
- At least one year of previous experience working in a hospital or extended facility food service department
- Be able to demonstrate good judgement in the ability to organize work flow and maintain sanitation, health and standards in the workplace.
Job Duties:
- Prepare or direct preparation of various types of foods according to standardized recipes to meet standards of palatability and quality.
- Verify food temperatures according to policy.
- Maintain work areas and equipment and makes sure equipment, ovens, tables, sink and work area, etc are clean and sanitized.
- Ensure that proper techniques are used in the storage, handling and holding of all food items. Label, date and wrap leftovers.
- Receive and store stock and supplies in appropriate places and notifies Registered Dietitian of food shortages and of equipment needing repair.
- Follow infection control policies including hand washing policies when handling dishes and when preparing nourishments.
- Demonstrate willingness to help on work that needs to be done in other areas of the kitchen when necessary; performs other duties as assigned.
- Verify temperatures of coolers and freezer, 3 compartment sink and dish washing machine
- Participate in monthly In-Services
