Salary Range:

  • Bachelors Level: $50,000 - $61,937
  • Master's Level: $55,000 - $68,367

The Buckeye Ranch is seeking a Residential Counselor/Social Worker for our adolescent therapeutic Residential Treatment Center.  As a Counselor/Social Worker, the selected candidate must be able to provide mental health counseling, psychoeducation groups, and support to the youth and families that we serve.  The Counselor/Social Worker will be working with youth, who may be struggling with behavioral, mental health, delinquency, substance abuse, or various family dysfunctions.  The desired Counselor/Social Worker candidate should be able to develop and implement appropriate therapeutic treatment and treatment planning; safety, and coping plans; intervening during crisis situations; and collaborating with other agencies and individuals on behalf of children.

Schedule: Full-time, Exempt (Some flexible options available)

Location: Grove City, OH

What you'll do:

  • Identifies concrete strengths and functioning of both client and family for utilization in treatment
  • Assesses problem(s) including concrete, behavioral examples, duration, severity, and environmental contributions
  • Identifies history of trauma, adversity and/or toxic stress that influence presenting problem(s), functioning, and relationships
  • Identifies cultural factors that influence presenting problem(s), functioning, and inter-actional styles
  • Collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system throughout treatment
  • Develops a shared understanding of the respective roles and responsibilities of team members. Facilitates collaborative care by actively sharing relevant information as appropriate
  • Consistently develops Aftercare Plans (such as, assisting with step down to a lower level of care, initiating referrals as needed, etc.) in collaboration with all relevant systems prior to discharge
  • Consistently records client progress in relation to treatment goals. Provides accurate, concise narrative when needed on any documentation. Demonstrates the ability to balance the inclusion of information with client rights to confidentiality

Who you are: 

  • You have a bachelor's or master's degree in Social Work or related field required; master's degree preferred 
  • State of Ohio LPC, LSW, or MFT in the state of Ohio (required for interview)
  • You have a valid Driver’s License, insurance, and a safe driving record in accordance with policies
  • You preferably have 1-3 years of Behavioral/Mental Health work experience as a Social Worker, Counselor, Therapist, or Clinician
