All of AZEK’s products are designed to replace wood, metal and other traditional materials in a variety of applications. In June 2020, we completed a highly successful IPO (NYSE: AZEK).

At AZEK, we don’t just accept diversity — we celebrate it, we support it, and we thrive on it for the benefit of our employees, our products, and our community. AZEK is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.

The Product Management Team for the Deck, Accessories and Adjacencies (D,A&A) category has responsibility for the overall lifecycle, sales and financial performance of these products.  These include the full line of Deck, Porch, Accessories and Adjacencies.  Individual Product Managers are responsible for the creation of a product roadmap, market/competitive research and analysis, new product development, maintenance, line extensions, pricing and product rationalization.  The Product Manager is ultimately responsible for the financial results of the product line and must ensure that the product line is meeting the goals of the company.  This team is an advocate for our customers and continually finds ways to add value to all stakeholders responsible for the manufacturing, marketing, distribution, sales and installation of the product.

Position Summary:  We are looking for an experienced businessperson who has a demonstrated interest in product management in the building products category with applicable skills and experience and who wants to grow within the Product Management team to positions of greater responsibility and leadership over time.

Reporting to the Director of Product Management for the Deck, Accessories and Adjacencies business, this role will have responsibility for working across these products in support of the Product Managers on the team.  In addition, depending on the skills and experience of the candidate, this position will also have direct responsibility for our Outdoor Furniture products and some other new product Adjacencies.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping to drive sales growth and gross margin improvement of our existing products. This candidate should be highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, focus on the details and drive cross-functional execution for the category while also understanding and engaging at the strategic level as well.  Finally, the candidate will also display a strong commitment to our Core Values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Act as the lead project manager for a number of key projects and on-going business processes and priorities. These include new product development and execution (e.g. cross-functional engagement in the NPD StageGate process from development to launch), product change management, gross margin improvement initiatives (e.g. VAVE, etc.) and product rationalization.
  • Play a leading role in supporting the Product Management in the areas of operations/quality, code compliance and applications testing, monthly business reviews and analysis, sourcing, sales and marketing support, SIOP, market and competitive analysis, product data audits/maintenance and Retail support.
  • Assist in (or lead) the execution of the plan for Outdoor Furniture and select other new or existing products. This includes all aspects of product development and on-going product management (product development, manufacturing, logistics, marketing, sales, customer service, demand forecasting, reporting and analysis, pricing and promotions including event support).
  • Work closely with the Marketing, IT, Finance and Operations/Logistics teams in executing the plan to sell our Deck, Accessories and Adjacencies products through a limited number of high-priority 3rd party eCommerce channels. These include HomeDepot.com, Lowes.com. Amazon.com and selected other eCommerce platforms.
  • Work with each Product Manager to on-board their high-priority products onto these eCommerce platforms. This includes evaluating and implementing any new packaging requirements, full initial product data loads, adding new products over time and on-going product maintenance on each eCommerce platform.
  • Coordinate with the Product Marketing Team to create, validate, and manage marketing assets for the products.
  • In general, take the initiative to support any number of other products and priorities of the team so we can achieve our annual and multi-year goals as a business.

Position Qualifications:

Strong computer skills to include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ad-hoc reporting tools

Experience:  3-5+ years in Product Management or demonstrated experience over a longer time frame and across other business functions that are directly related to the core responsibilities of the position (e.g. Project management, operations, financial planning and analysis, marketing).  Direct experience with management of tangible products such as building materials is a plus.

This position would likely be based at our corporate headquarters in Chicago’s West Fulton Market District although we would consider candidates around the Wilmington/Dayton, OH or Scranton, PA area with regular travel to our Chicago headquarters and manufacturing plants.  The expectation is that this position would be primarily in-office or at our other business locations at least 3-4 days per week with flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week.  Position will require moderate travel (25-40%).
