Job Summary:
The GM Supply leads the Supply Division, focusing on core values, ethical conduct, and strong relationships. Key duties include maximizing profitability, driving revenue growth, and expanding market share. The role involves budgeting, financial performance monitoring, and strategic pricing. The GM supports team development, conducts branch visits, and collaborates with sales teams to boost revenue. Effective communication with senior leadership and maintaining an open-door policy are essential.

Essential Functions:
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the use of Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure that they are effectively and consistently put into action.
- Encourages maximum top line revenue, while monitoring gross margin percentages and dollars in respective product categories.
- Promotes expense control, noting that it takes dollars and investment to grow a business division.
- Leads team in strategic growth to increase our market share.
- Monitors financials while tracking performance against key criteria and indicators.
- Available to review larger commodity programs (i.e. lumber and rebar) and place orders as needed or direct reports to complete ordering to take advantage of pricing swings and market changes.
- Leads team to monitor and adjust pricing as needed on all products as vendors increase or decrease prices.
- Examines and leads team to price individual projects/jobs based on revenue and margin needs and competition price points.
- Establishes vendor relationships, determined by customer need, along with quality of product, cost structures, and customer service and response to our needs.
- Leads team to establish and maintain relationships with Buying Groups of choice.
- Leads team to learn, develop, and educate themselves in market information, competition, product knowledge, and self-development.
- Makes periodic branch visits, leading branch team and branch personnel to grow branch revenue.
- Works with and builds relationships with Supply Sales Manager and Outside Sales Team in-order-to monitor knowledge level, assist in customer visits, assess profitability needs, to help grow their sales territories.
- Meets with, updates, and educates direct reports on all non-confidential information, goals, achievements, and direction of supply division and company.
- Communicates needs, challenges, and accomplishments to Senior VP and General Manager of TFR on an as-needed basis.
- Be available for all Supply Division and company Team members, encouraging an open-door policy.
- Work safely adhering to all applicable safety policies, complying with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Performs safety observations/walks encouraging and requiring adherence to all safety procedures.
- Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of metals and lumber markets as it relates to current and future pricing and availability of product.
- Critical thinking skills to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to present formally before both small and large groups.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Construction Management is preferred.
- 5 or more years of directly related business management and/or operational management experience leading diverse teams and offering a broad range of product offerings.
- Experience in the construction equipment rental industry, preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel:
- Travel as needed, up to 25%
- Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
- This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
- This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
- Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
- Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
- Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladder.
- Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment.
- Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work.
- Safety training required; PPE required outside of office/parking lot area.
Work Environment:
- This job is generally performed in a professional office environment.
- Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity.
- Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
