Sr. Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Position Description Summary (Position purpose, Geographical scope)
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring maintenance execution efficiency. Support the Maintenance Execution organization and the Asset Owner with technical knowledge.

Major Tasks & responsibilities:

1 - Ensure the technical scope for all maintenance activities is defined and all maintenance techniques and practices are complying with and industrial standards

2 - Manages the maintenance costs in the designated area ofresponsibility3 - Ensure day to day maintenance actions follow standard methodologies and processes.

4 - Evaluate equipment failures, and provide information to Asset Engineers for defect elimination activities. Take corrective actions when failures are deemed to be caused by maintenance processes.

5 - Provide SME (subject matter expertise) in the area of specific asset types (e.g. piping, pumps) or maintenance methodologies (e.g. lubrication, flange mgt.)

6 - Closely collaborate with Asset Engineers to jointly improve the asset performance by becoming a "Learning Organization”

7 -Closely collaborate with Asset Engineers in Asset Strategy optimization

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related degree with 6+ years’ experience or:

* Master’s in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related degree with4+ (0-4+) years’ experience

* Foundational knowledge of rotating and static equipment

* Good knowledge of working with Level II chemicals (i.e. chlorine, CO,phosgene, ammonia)

* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a team member with a high level of motivation

* Knowledge of chemical plant process technology

* Ability to interact with management in various departments is required in coordinating and complying with approved standards and policies

* Broad knowledge of reliability centered maintenance concepts

* Good analyzing skills and structured working style

* Good knowledge of RCA/DE/FMEA/RCM methodologies

* Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to communicate to all levels of employees in organization and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

* Six Sigma Green belt Certification

Candidate Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related degree with 6+ years’ experience
  • field devising / approving repair plans, executing repair maintenance jobs and Turnarounds
  • working with craftsmen like millwrights, and in general provided direct support to maintenance efforts.
  • Knowledge of chemical plant process technology
  • Foundational knowledge of rotating and static equipment
