*This opportunity is currently open to CIA Students as part of their Spring 2026 externship requirements.

We seek to provide comfort and joy, to care for, and nurture life by sharing our unique pastries, cake, pies, breads and treats. We bake everything from scratch using high-quality ingredients. As a Bakery Innovation Extern you will support our Bakery Innovation Chef in bakery recipe development, batching, scaling, mixing, and processing recipes. You will also conduct recipe testing and collect data points, providing feedback and making necessary adjustments as needed. At Tatte Bakery we bake everything from scratch and use high quality ingredients. Our bakery innovation extern must thrive in a fast-paced work environment while adhering to cleanliness and sanitation standards for the entire kitchen and dish area. Most importantly, they must take pride in what they do and be team player.

This 15-week-long externship will include:

  • 2 weeks of onboarding, orientation, and training
  • 7 weeks of Bakery recipe Development
  • 4 weeks of project management training, seeing projects through from end-to-end

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential functions consistent with federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Able to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, manipulate and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
