SPA has an immediate need for a highly qualified Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Seeking a Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Headquarters United States Space Force (HQ USSF) Chief Strategy and Resourcing Office (CSRO). This office is responsible for carrying out and executing strategic planning, long-range resource allocation, and developing, directing, and conducting USSF programming activities necessary to complete the USSF Program Objective Memorandum (POM). Additionally, the CSRO delivers integrated Service space strategies, policies, and requirements to provide organized, trained, and equipped space forces for employment by Joint Force Commanders. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of MBSE Systems Modeling Language (SysML) certifications and experience with architecture development, mission engineering, requirements development, CONOPS development, and verification and test.
Responsibilities:
As a MBSE systems engineer, job duties require the candidate to be capable of applying principles, theories and concepts related to the digital modeling of systems. Responsibilities include using MBSE tools to model and capture (in Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and/or Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) compliant view sets) program requirements, track performance metrics, and manage the systems engineering process. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Analyze requirements, build requirement diagrams and tables in a MBSE format, define relationships between model elements, and allocate requirements to systems using MBSE software.
- Assess engineering artifacts and develop models of mission systems using a MBSE tool suite that includes Cameo and other Commercial-off-the-Shelf tools.
- Apply systems engineering modeling methodologies to develop mission models.
- Integrate enterprise tools and develop MBSE-based processes to support requirements engineering, the customer's Engineering Review Board process, CONOPS and architecture development, digital mission, and integration of new initiatives in support of expanded mission capabilities.
- Facilitate collaborative meetings between the MBSE modelers and stakeholders to deliver mission needs and help innovate potential solutions.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to senior managers regarding the creation and implementation of new MBSE methods and techniques.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree plus a minimum of 15 years of experience in an Operations, Engineering, Scientific, Data Science, Software Programming, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Analysis, Policy or Planning field, or equivalent experience/responsibility
- Active TS/SCI at time of application
- Demonstrated experience building system models in Cameo and/or other UML/SysML based tool suites
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in Space Systems
- Skills performing systems engineering for space-based mission systems
- Experience providing engineering support in a DoD environment
- Background in technical or scientific aspects of military operations
- OMG OCSMP MBSE/SysML certification
