Complete packaging solutions are provided for parenteral drugs, ophthalmics, animal health products, vitamins, and nutritional supplements. Products include vial, capsule, syringe, and powder filling; isolation technology, and cartoning.

Job Description

SUMMARY: Sets-up, edits and operates machines to include CNC mill, or CNC lathe, manual mill, manual lathe, to machine  complex, high tolerance parts, with little supervision.  Possesses broad knowledge of machining practices and detailed set-ups.  Works on complex tooling and fixtures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Programs, sets up and operates machines and performs progressive work involving very close tolerances, using scale, square, calipers, micrometers, indicators, vernier, etc.
  • Determines operation sequences, working from blueprints, sketches, and written specifications.
  • Skillfully fits and assembles where necessary, using machinist’s hand tools, measuring equipment, clamping devices, etc. to position work properly and monitoring machine functions and dimensional deviations.
  • Work safely, adhering to company policies/procedures, maintain work area and machines in safe working conditions.
  • Work within established time standards for machining various parts.
  • Actively participate in efforts for Continuous Improvement of processes
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods to operate machining equipment.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a minimum of 2+ year vocational education OR high school education supplemented by 2+ years of formal on-the-job training
  • Must have a minimum of 5+ years of machining experience using all of the equipment noted above

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of machining practices and techniques and mechanical principles
  • Knowledge of shop mathematics
  • Ability to program and perform complex setups, tooling applications
  • Familiarity with machinability of materials
  • Skilled ability to read blueprints and sketches
  • Effective communication skills
  • Motivated, self-starter
  • Possess continuous improvement mentality
  • Positive attitude, open to change
  • Ability to run multiple machines concurrently

Additional Information

The expected compensation range for this position is between $36,900 – 79,984 based on a full-time schedule.

Compensation for roles at Syntegon varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience. At Syntegon compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Total rewards at Syntegon include salary + bonus (if applicable) + benefits.
