General Purpose of the Position:

The primary responsibility will be to monitor and maintain the overall appearance of the various types of flooring throughout the Switch facilities.  These flooring types include VCT, Ger floor, rubberized flooring, tile and carpet.

This position is directly responsible for operating all equipment and maintaining the schedule as defined by Management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow all company policies and safety guidelines, as well as operating procedures for all equipment and materials
• Monitor the data center floor and associated flooring as needed to maintain our standards for cleanliness and appearance
• Assist Tech II with gathering, loading, and unloading of all equipment and supplies
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, company vehicles, and work stations
• Specific duties for each type of flooring include:
  • Carpet -  Scrub, extract and vacuum
  • VCT/Rubberized floor – Strip, wax, buff and maintain
  • Ger – run floor cleaner to maintain
  • Tile – Clean both tile and grout. Seal as needed
• Conduct job duties and responsibilities with escorted cage access
• Conduct necessary Maintenance, Repairs and Adjustments to all cleaning equipment as needed

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Any certifications relevant to the job field
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in production, facilities, mechanical maintenance or relevant field experience

Physical Demands: 

The data center is 24 hours/7-day operation. This position requires the ability to work effectively under pressure and multi-task and supervise multiple projects simultaneously. This person may be required to work extended hours during peak work periods.

This position will include exterior facility work.  Applicant must be able to work both indoors and outdoors while utilizing environmental safety practices.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

If your position requires you to work in the field and/or warehouse, it is mandatory that you wear approved Personal Protective Equipment.
