Description

The respiratory therapist treats patients with respiratory diseases and conditions using specialized medical equipment, oxygen therapies, and manual treatment techniques. The respiratory therapist also examines and evaluates patients for respiratory problems and operates medical equipment to carry out cardiopulmonary tests. Possession of an associate's degree in respiratory therapy or completion of a two-year program in respiratory technology required. Current respiratory therapy licensure in the state of Louisiana as a RRT or CRT required. BLS and ACLS required.
