JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse

We are looking for a talented RN, LVN, or highly experienced Medical Assistant to fill the role of primary clinical support for a busy orthopaedic surgeon. Duties include calling patients back to the exam room, assessing the need for X-ray evaluation before rooming patients and obtaining a comprehensive history. The ideal candidate should be a strong multi-tasker, thrive in a demanding environment, and have considerable knowledge of orthopaedic medical management. If you have previous experience in Orthopaedics or Sports Medicine, we would like to meet you.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with and drawing injections.
• Input orders for imaging, PT, DME, orthotics, labs, and referrals.
• Patient phone calls and encounters dealing with topics like medications, treatments, test results and surgery.
• Knowledgeable in the intricacies of scheduling surgery and imaging.
• Function as a role model, team leader and resource person; providing guidance to coworkers.
• Confer with physician to provide the highest level of patient care.
• Work collaboratively with all providers of care including PT, Home Health, Rehab, Hospital, DME providers and Implant Representatives

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of clinical experience
• Active License and/or Certification
• Ability to multi-task without sacrificing attention to detail.

• Exposure to and knowledge of orthopaedic medical management

Preferences:

• Experience and proficiency in EMR systems
• Proficient in removing staples and sutures from post-operative incision sites.
