Strom Minnesota is currently looking for a Quality Manager for our client jut north of the Twin Cities in Isanti, MN.

We are in search of an experienced Quality Manager who is highly motivated and will work well with our production and engineering teams in providing quality solutions for our customers. Our products are used worldwide by biologists, scientists, and ecologists to track and research migratory patterns of mammals, fish, reptiles, insects, birds, and marine life.

Description/Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints and instructions to recognize the quality expectations for the product and supplies.
  • Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and performance.
  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure timely delivery of defect free products to our customers. This includes writing processes and procedures.
  • Monitor processes and procedures so we can be proactive in preventing problems.
  • Monitor customer service issues that may have relevance to quality and initiate actions and procedures to alleviate the issues.
  • Find technical root cause and suggest corrective action for given problems.
  • Work with the factory team to understand design impacts on manufacturability.
  • Conduct regular job site inspections and immediately address and correct safety concerns.
  • Review of vendor SDS documents with ability to interpret toxicity limits, review PPE required, ensure proper containment available and train as needed for handling of substance.
  • Participate in and conduct OSHA and MSHA required and recommended training.
  • Backup to Production Manager.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Skills, Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Experience working with electronics and printed circuit boards.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, practices, and methodologies
  • Ability to work independently, and in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design impacts on manufacturability.
