Responsibilities
We are seeking an MRI Technologist (PRN) internally referred to as a Rad Tech II at St Joseph Medical Center (Kansas City, MO) a member of Prime Healthcare. The MRI Technologist will operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to capture detailed images of patients' internal organs, tissues, and structures. They play critical role in the diagnostic process by producing high-quality images that help physicians diagnose and treat various medical conditions. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.

To perform duties in this position you must be MRI certified and certified in one other modality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- prepare patients for their MRI scans by explaining the procedure, addressing any concerns or questions, and ensuring that patients are comfortable, you may also screen patients for contraindications to MRI, such as the presence of metal implants or pacemakers
- operate MRI scanners to acquire high-resolution images of the body, position patients correctly on the scanning table and select appropriate imaging parameters to produce clear and accurate images
- adhere to strict safety protocols to protect both patients and you from potential hazards associated with MRI technology, such as strong magnetic fields
- during the MRI scan, monitor patients' vital signs and adjust imaging parameters as needed to obtain the desired images, you may perform multiple imaging sequences to capture different anatomical views or enhance specific tissue contrasts
- administer contrast agents intravenously to enhance the visibility of certain tissues or abnormalities during the scan, monitor patients for any adverse reactions to the contrast agent and provide appropriate care if needed
- perform routine quality assurance checks on MRI equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
- ARMRIT or ARRT(MR) required
- current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and remain current
- must be a graduate of a JRCERT approved Radiologic Technology Program or MRI course
- at least 2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist Preferred
- proficient computer skills
