Job Summary
The NP will be working under the supervision of the attending Physician, evaluating, diagnosing and treating patients of all ages for chronic and acute injuries, infections and illnesses. Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations, order and interpret routine tests and prescribes medication. Provide accurate and comprehensive documentation of the patient encounter in the medical chart. Formulates diagnostic and treatment plans. Prescribes and administer medications, therapies, suturing and splinting. Orders labs and imaging tests to determine and manage an immediate treatment plan and provide advise on follow up. Attends meetings to discuss mutual problems, and implements new procedures. As appropriate, counsel patients on preventative care. Collaborate with various members of the Healthcare team to provide quality on-site care and appropriate information for post-discharge care. Complete charts in a timely manner so as to comply with medical records standard and allow billing for medical services.
Requirements/Education/Skills
- 3600 Hours prior practice experience as a Nurse Practitioner & Industrial Health Preference required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
- N.Y.S. Registered Nurse
- Graduate of a N.Y.S. Registered Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Successful completion of pharmacy component
- Must be able to lift and position patients if required
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others on the team to achieve desired outcomes.
- Organizational time management skills as evidenced by capacity to multitask and prioritize work.
