Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Pay: $30.32- $40.75 per hour, depending on years of experience

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technician provides direct patient care and technical assistance under the direction of the medical and nursing staff in the operative suite. The CST scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team.

The surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. S/He has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. S/He has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing the room for surgical procedures
  • Assist the RN in the required nursing activities of patient care before, during, and after surgery
  • Maintain the clean and orderly environment in the OR suite
  • Stocking/re-stocking of supplies 
  • Assist in the plan of care for the patient

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency required
  • Certified Surgical Technician certification required
  • Successful completion of OR Technician program preferred
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as the ability to lift and position patients
