Job Description
We are looking for a strategic product manager to lead product development for new “0->1” artist tools initiatives. You’ll define and own the product strategy for new artist-facing products, which we’re investing in to further our mission of empowering artists with the right tools to succeed and grow in their careers. You will work closely with engineering, design, and analytics to build these products, and partner with product marketing to bring them to market and drive business outcomes. You will deeply understand our audience’s needs and the artist tools landscape, to develop and convey a compelling vision for your products, and to ruthlessly prioritize opportunities and resources.
You will join the small but tight-knit TIDAL PM team, and will report into the Product Lead for TIDAL's core streaming product. You will have the opportunity to help improve and scale the function, including mentoring other product managers on the team. This role is remote-friendly and open to candidates based anywhere in the United States Eastern Time Zone.
You Will:
Define product strategy:
Identify market opportunities and build compelling business cases for new products that align with TIDAL’s overall mission and product strategy
Develop a deep understanding of and empathy for artists, fans, and other key players in the music creation and distribution ecosystem, with a passion for improving artists’ lives and economic outcomes
Create and drive a product roadmap that breaks down long term vision into shippable milestones, and take ownership for the end-to-end success of projects from discovery to launch
Drive execution:
Define, document, and communicate goals, product requirements, and constraints for product initiatives and releases
Partner with engineering, design, product marketing and analytics to execute initiatives from ideation through delivery and post-launch iteration, working through blockers and unknowns that come up along the way
Collaborate with other Product Managers and internal partner teams on project sequencing and dependency management, finding creative solutions to resource constraints and dependency issues
Work cross-functionally with our customer success, lifecycle, and analytics teams to measure and deeply understand the impact of launches, creating a strong customer-centric feedback loop into future product development
Collaborate effectively with partners across the company:
Share and evangelize vision and strategy for your product area across the organization at all levels
Engage the right stakeholders and senior company leaders to align resources and prioritization
Build strong relationships with partner and stakeholder teams such as Legal, Marketing, Business Affairs, Artist Relations, and beyond to ensure product plans and launches are tightly coordinated across the company to minimize risk and maximum impact
Qualifications
You Have:
8+ years of product management experience or related/equivalent experience
Experience shipping and iterating on 0->1 or high-growth products that required partnering across multiple teams
Strong product sense and product vision skills, with a strong emphasis on using data and experimentation to guide decisions and strategy
Demonstrated leadership ability with proven track record of driving product strategy in partnership with senior engineers, designers, and executive stakeholders
Ability to both operate at a strategic level and dive deep into the details and technical complexity with ease
Experience communicating complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
Obsessive about design and user experience, both for business and consumer users
Nice to Have: Experience building products in the music streaming, creator tools, or adjacent spaces
