SOME (So Others Might Eat) is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician for the Facilities Management program.

Position Description: The Building Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining SOME, Inc. facilities' physical condition and operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for responding to work orders and providing daily maintenance and repair services, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or carpentry.

Qualifications:

Required: 1-3 yrs. Facilities Management experience in multi-site housing or residential facilities. Travel to work sites using your own transportation. (Mileage will be reimbursed)

Required License/Certification: Must possess and maintain a vehicle and valid Driver's License, and personal car liability insurance coverage.

Schedule: Sunday- Thursday 5:00 am- 1:30 pm (40 hours per week)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Understanding of electrical issues, preventive maintenance, fire systems, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance and repair
• Time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Knowledge of landscaping and painting
• Knowledge of safety practices related to maintenance activities and corresponding equipment and chemicals
• Basic computer skills
• Utilize your own tools for work projects, and transport tools to work sites.
• Ability to troubleshoot and understand plumbing issues, preventative maintenance, and general maintenance and repair.
• Ability to use common power tools, hand tools, and maintenance equipment.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift to 50 pounds. This position may be active and requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders. Work may be performed outside on facility grounds in heat or cold. Travel to work sites using your own transportation methods. Utilize your own tools for work projects and transport tools to the work site.
