Purpose:               Associate to train on how to service production machinery by keeping them in optimal operating condition.  Associate to train on select equipment and add additional equipment types over time.  Associate to learn how to ensure all equipment meets the company’s safety regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To keep select production equipment properly operating at peak performance levels.

To perform preventative maintenance (PM) on select production equipment (lubrication/electrical/temp).

To train how to trouble shoot and resolve machine issues as under an experienced technician.

Ensure safety devices are in good condition and properly attached to equipment.

Provide assistance in equipment moves to accommodate the facility requirement.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Follow established priorities for repairing equipment with other technicians and managers.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Any other activity assigned by the facility according to the production needs.

Basic technical knowledge of mechanics, electronics, and/or electricity.

Emotionally balanced to work under pressure with various associate personalities.

Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.

Good oral communications skills.

Learn to provide technical service to production associates having equipment issues.

Job / Education Requirements:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); Work experience of 1-2 years in a production environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Technical certification in a related field preferred.

Basic mechanical knowledge and handling of industrial equipment.

Physically able to perform moderately strenuous daily activities of a technical nature in production environment.  Activities include the ability to sit and/or stand for periods of 10 hours, able to lift 45-60 pounds, able to climb a ladder, must have clear vision within 20”,  manual dexterity to use fingers, hands, and arms to achieve these and other similar daily task.

Good attendance.  Regular work schedule of four 10-hour days for a total of 40 hours per week.  Associates may occasionally be required to work an extra 4-10 hours per week. Overtime pay compensation is 1.5 times the normal pay.
