Sodexo has an exciting new opportunity for an Attorney to join our Legal Department to support our technology team with their negotiation of technology agreements and development of technology solutions. This position will be based out of our new headquarters, located in North Bethesda, Maryland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for negotiating licensing agreements and structuring business relationships and partnerships with technology vendors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of technology-related agreements, including software licensing, cloud services, professional services, and business alliances.
- Work closely with business teams to understand their objectives, identify legal risks, and propose solutions that balance business and legal interests.
- Provide legal guidance and support to cross-functional teams on matters related to technology transactions, licensing, and commercial agreements.
- Research and advise on emerging legal issues and trends, best practices and regulatory developments in technology law, and provide proactive legal advice to mitigate risks and support business objectives.
Key qualifications include:
- Juris Doctor degree or LL.M. (Master of Laws) from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in the United States.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing law with a focus on technology transactions, software licensing, and commercial agreements.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and across different levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with data protection and related privacy laws, a plus.
