Nourish New York is Looking for a Director of Events and Catering

Nourish is looking for a Director of Events and Catering to lead the special events and catering for Nourish in the New York City market. The ideal candidate will be someone with a strong background in event planning and management, sales, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences.

This role involves a combination of sales, marketing, and event management responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this role include

• Oversee the planning and execution of all events, ensuring they meet client expectations and Nourish standards
• Coordinate with clients to understand their event requirements,
• Work with the Nourish culinary team to ensure delivery of the menu,
• Generate new business leads and opportunities by actively networking, prospecting, and building relationships with potential clients
• Develop and maintain a sales strategy to increase event bookings and revenue;
• Prepare and present proposals to potential clients,
• Prepare and manage budgets for each event to ensure profitability.
• Monitor expenses and find cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality of service,
• Hire, train, and supervise event staff,
• Track and analyze key performance metrics, including revenue, expenses, and customer feedback, to make data-driven decisions and improvements
• Develop contingency plans for potential issues or emergencies that may arise during events, such as bad weather or equipment malfunctions.

The ideal candidate should have experience in:

• Event planning and execution,
• Sales and business development;
• Proven track record managing budgets,
• Managing a team;
• Analyzing and tracking reports; and
• Solving problems through innovation and industry/market trends.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to an account, may have multiple clients and/or satellite locations.
Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.
