SUMMARY: Accountable for the following responsibilities listed below.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Schedules, coordinates and executes the following for our customers:
o Subjective Evaluation (Primary):
• Noise and ride
• Wet and dry handling
• Off-road
• Hydroplaning
• Other specialized testing by request
o Objective Evaluation (Secondary):
• Pass by noise
• Objective NVH measurement
• Vehicle braking
• Traction trailer testing and support
o Engineering support including new test development
• Ability to prioritize and manage time and resources effectively and in collaboration with engineering staff.
• Ability to carry out assignments in a logical fashion using existing technology and standardized methods.
• Provides quality data on time with a high level of customer service to meet product development deadlines.
• Coordinates and participates in product demonstrations to tire dealers and the media.
• Communicates with customers to understand their needs and convey results.
• Reports results in an orderly and timely fashion.
• Maintains driver certification and provides training to others.
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% to 20% of the time.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in science required, engineering preferred.
• Automotive industry experience required.
• Five (5) or more years of performance driving and tire testing/evaluation experience required.
• Understanding of automotive functions and vehicle dynamics relative to tire test performance.
• Knowledge of data acquisition and vehicle instrumentation required.
• Knowledge of standard tire evaluation techniques and ratings including terminology.
