Job Description
This is an onsite position at our Rancho Belago location. The pay range is $27.50-$32.50 an hour.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under supervision, the Computer Operator will operate a high-speed data processing computer, (IMB AS400) and related peripheral equipment, including tape drives and printers. They will also process a variety of computer production runs according to detailed instructions and monitor the PKMS users and related peripheral equipment. This person will be required to work 6 days a week during the Back to School and Christmas seasons.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Monitoring/directing of jobs within company production schedules.
- Monitoring/directing spool files for all printing devices.
- Monitors telecommunications equipment and network.
- Data Entry at the PC.
- Maintaining Laser and label spool files within the out queues.
- Creating and Enabling Users in multiple Skechers Distribution Centers.
- Answering the phones of all incoming calls.
- Handling reprint requests from users.
- Handling restore request, mounting tapes for restore request.
- Responsible for daily system backups, and tape storage.
- Responsible for general computer room production and operation under direction.
- Responsible for printing labels for various departments.
- May operate console to take corrective action.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Perform system maintenance.
- Operates tape drives, and laser printers.
- Alerts programmers of programming aborts and halts.
- Make entries in maintenance and trouble logs.
- Performs routine maintenance such as cleaning printer and tape heads.
Qualifications
- Knowledgeable with IBM AS400 iSeries command line commands and syntax.
- Learn and provide network support; learn and apply new technical knowledge quickly.
- Communicate effectively with a diverse user base both verbally and in writing.
- Work independently and as a member of a team.
- Approach and maintain cooperative work relationships always in a professional manner.

Additional Information
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution center automation projects, with a proven track record of delivering projects on-time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Experience in leading teams and managing complex projects, including building construction and warehouse automation projects.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Advanced Excel skills with experience writing formulas to incorporate new functionality into budgeting spreadsheets.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
- Knowledge of footwear or retail industries is a plus.
