Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-
- Assist with the preparation of Federal tax returns, state income tax returns and state income tax apportionment
- Provide support on Puerto Rico financial report audit, quarterly estimated tax payments for both income tax and property tax
- Assist with gathering documents and supports on state and local tax audits including but not limited to income tax, sales and use tax and property tax.
- Provide month-end support including journal entry preparation
- Prepare and file state annual reports and business tax returns.

Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS-
- Good organizational skills needed to manage strict filings deadlines and be able to multi-task
- Basic tax compliance experience and/or strong accounting background
- Proficient knowledge of MS applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- AbiIity to communicate professionally at all levels within and outside of the organization
- Critical thinking skills in order to analyze information and data
- Must be hard-working, a self-starter, performance-oriented and able to meet the demands of a diverse business environment in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in tax, including Big 4 experience
- BA/BS in Accounting or equivalent, CPA preferred but not required
- Experience with sales and use tax
- Experience with state income tax apportionment factor
- Experience with tax research software
