Job Description

  • The Geometry Process Engineer primary responsibilities will be to develop the PLP Strategy for the BIW Assembly Process including the development of the GEO Welds required to properly retain the geometry being set in each station.
  • Development of clamping and welding sequences as required.
  • They will work closely with the GD&T Team and BIW Process team to determine the minimum required physical locating features in each tool with an emphasis on achieving good geometry and lowest CapEx costs.
  • Additional considerations will be necessary to integrate new product into existing processes to minimize launch impacts and costs.
  • Supports Product/Process convergence to drive both product and process solutions to improve geometry metrics and simplify tooling/process strategies.
  • Attendance in Process Design Reviews and buyoffs to insure adherence Technical Standards and documented PLP Strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing.
  • BIW Geometry Tool & Process Design experience.
  • CAD Experience and design capability using NX, Catia, and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to effectively work and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vehicle manufacturing launch experience.
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter Manufacturing and VIS Mock-up Microsoft Excel power-user desired.
