Overview

The Behavior Specialist delivers treatment services to Dooley School program clients and their families within the policies and procedures of St. Joseph’s Villa. Performs all work safely, in accordance with the highest professional ethical standards, and in alignment with Saint Joseph’s Villa mission, values, and guiding principles.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Participates as an active member in a team approach to the delivery of services to clients.
  • Participates in staff meetings, community meetings, and other staff and program group activities that support the operation of an effective psychoeducational program.
  • Coordinates all phases of the psychoeducational program within the program(s) for which he/she has primary responsibility.
  • Functions as a facilitator in the treatment teams for his/her service.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of service plans, objectives and methods necessary for providing effective services to individual clients and families.
  • Provides professional psychoeducational services to clients and their families individually and in groups on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • Participates in the development of progress/evaluation reports on clients.
  • Maintains accurate individual case records for clients under his/her supervision within state licensing and professional accreditation standards.
  • Acts as liaison with community agency casework staff for process reporting and service planning.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

  • BA/BS, in Special Education or related field.
  • QMHP-T or QMHP-C
  • Requires two years related experience with special education or children with developmental or behavioral disabilities
