Job Description:
As a Machine Learning Software Engineer, you will be an early employee of the new innovation organization within Saab in stealth mode. You’ll be creating tools and techniques for building scalable architecture, understanding complex database schemas, and helping build best in class software. You will be embedded with the Training & Simulation team in Orlando, FL, helping to design the future of ground combat training analytical decision aids ultimately serving the US Marine Corps and US Army.
Designs, develops and programs systems to maintain, consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources. Interacts with product and service teams to build the database structure to allow data scientists to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and builds software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources.
Your day to day responsibilities will be varied and changing frequently, including:
Writing and reviewing python code at least 80% of your time
Creating APIs, demos, and documentation for customer feedback and use
Streaming tabular data processing
Integration with third-party infrastructure
MySQL, NoSQL, MSSQL
Compensation Range: $108,000-$137,700
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
REQUIREMENTS
Must hold or be able to obtain U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance and be a U.S. Citizen.
High interest in supporting the US Marine Corps and US Army ground combat training mission.
Proficient software engineering skills across multiple languages including Python.
Machine learning libraries such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, Keras, Caffe
Database Experience.
Experience with AWS.
Experience with Ubuntu environment and the command line
BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied and Computational Mathematics or related discipline.
BONUS POINTS
Experience with infrastructure/deployment on AWS
Familiar with GeoJson File Formats (Open Street Maps Schema)
Light data science experience, can integrate open source APIs
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
Experience with testing and continuous integration
Natural language processing and unsupervised learning experience
Familiarity with optimization methods and heuristic techniques for solving constrained optimization problems
Experience in gaming, modeling and simulation, or working in live-virtual-constructive training environments.
Experience or high interest in ground combat training
Military experience, including familiarity with tactics, techniques and procedures for ground combat, military communications, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.
MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied and Computational Mathematics or related discipline.
Active US Government Security Clearance
