Position Overview:
We are looking for a Wireless Network Engineer to join our team on a new effort supporting our Federal Government Client in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will possess at least four (4) plus years of recent, continuous years of hands-on experience designing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting system LAN and WLAN environments on large scale enterprise integrations.
**Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
The primary scope of this work shall include the efforts involved with engineering (designing, developing, installing, configuring, testing, and implementing) various WLAN/LAN task orders involving Aruba and Cisco network solutions. Additionally, the candidate will participate in capturing and analyzing technical requirements; documenting detailed system designs, implementation plans, and operations guides of network systems; participate in both project and operational meetings; providing Tier 3 level support utilizing change control processes. The candidate will also serve as a backup to the LAN engineering team to support LAN infrastructure projects.
Additional duties for which the candidate shall demonstrate experience for the senior Network engineer position shall include:
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Aruba wireless environment to include controllers, RADIUS server, Airwave management system, Aruba Clearpass, wireless controllers, access points
- Configuring user access and guest access, and device authentication for wireless environment
- Developing network system model and network system architecture diagrams
- Participating in both project and steady-state meetings
- Providing Tier 3 level support via change control processes and procedures
- Contributing subject matter expertise to improve-upon the enterprise’s networks as required
- Monitoring of LAN infrastructure activity and performance for identifying potential security, speed, and performance utilizing LAN, QoS, VLAN, IOS, Netflow and SNMP
- Developing/creating of system model and system architecture plans and designs, test plans, implementation plans, operation guides, and overall subject matter expertise for enterprise network solutions
- Utilizing available network troubleshooting tools, including network packet captures, monitoring devices, log files, and customer input in order to facilitate effective issues resolution
- Installing and configuring networking resources such as LAN switches.
Position Requirements:
- Be able to obtain Top-Secret Security clearance
- Five (5) plus years of recent, continuous years of hands-on experience designing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting system LAN and WLAN environments on large scale enterprise integrations.
- Experience designing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting wireless controllers, RADIUS authentication, SSID configuration, Guest Portals, Access point provisioning;
- Experience conducting Wireless Site Surveys including Active and Passive type surveys;
- Experience designing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting of Cisco switching.
- Experience with policy making and management for Layer 2 QoS packet markings and conformance;
- Experience utilizing Cisco IOS commands and VLAN (switches & routers) configuring;
- Experience diagramming network designs, layouts, etc. using tools such as Visio;
- Experience performing work without appreciable direction and exercising considerable latitude in the determination of technical objectives of assignments
- Experience Troubleshooting network issues using Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Prime Infrastructure, and Cisco DNA Center (DNA-C)
- Experience designing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting of Aruba Wireless environment;
- Hands on experience with Aruba wireless controllers, Aruba Airwave, Aruba Mobility Conductor 8.x and Aruba ClearPass
- Experience with policy making and management for Layer 3 QoS packet markings and conformance;
- CCNP Certification
- Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA) or Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP)
