Job Overview:
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team supporting our Federal Customer out of Washington, DC. The Systems Engineer candidate must possess a detailed knowledge in theory, application and troubleshooting of networks, servers and desktop applications with the ability to multitask while working through issues on both phone calls and emails.
Responsibilities:
- Perform primary systems administration and OU support for systems and equipment, to include steady-state file print servers, domain controllers, applications servers, media storage systems, access control, hardware installations, wiring/cabling support, equipment rack re-locations, power source support, backup media rotations, installations/upgrades, OS configurations, problem resolution, system administration, data backup/recovery.
- Providing steady-state support for deployed desktop and laptop images using enterprise-wide deployment techniques.
- Execute routine updates to deployed systems.
- Experience in monitoring OS and security patching.
- Support routine software patch updates via a Desktop/Server enterprise management system such as BigFix and Microsoft SCCM.
- Leverage Printer and Multi-function printer enterprise management tools.
- Mentor and serve as a technical escalation point for on-site Network Administrators
- Troubleshooting hardware, software, printers, and network issues as well as Active Directory administration; Microsoft Windows 10; Microsoft Server 2012 R2 and Microsoft Server 2016; Microsoft Office 2016 including Outlook and Microsoft Exchange, basic Cisco switch administration using PuTTY and/or Cisco Prime; AirWatch software supporting iOS devices including iPads and iPhones; System Center Service Manager (SCSM) ticketing software; VMware and/or vSphere administration; Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012 used for imaging, application installs and security updates; and troubleshooting EVoIP phones
- Monitor systems to ensure compliance with enterprise-wide standards
Job Requirements:
**Current and Active Top Secret Clearance**
- 2-4 years supporting network infrastructure in complete, multi-site network environments
- Ability and knowledge to perform primary systems administration and OU support for systems and equipment, to include steady-state file print servers, domain controllers, applications servers, media storage systems, access control, hardware installations, wiring/cabling support, equipment rack re-locations, power source support, backup media rotations, installations/upgrades, OS configurations, problem resolution, system administration, data backup/recovery.
- Expertise and technical proficiency in providing steady-state support for deployed desktop and laptop images using enterprise-wide deployment techniques.
- Ability to execute routine updates to deployed systems.
- Experience in monitoring OS and security patching, and to support routine software patch updates via a Desktop/Server enterprise management system. (ex: BigFix and Microsoft SCCM.)
- Able to leverage Printer and Multi-function printer enterprise management tools.
- Proficient background in administration, monitoring and steady-state maintenance support is required.
- Understanding of enterprise-level server and desktop systems and latest Microsoft Server technologies to include supporting deployed hardware and software.
- Ability to support steady-state enterprise-wide upgrades and changes to associated systems.
- Knowledge and experience in supporting steady-state systems Backup, Restore and Recovery procedures.
- Ability to work rotating 8-hour weekend shifts
Preferred Qualifications:
- Aruba wireless controllers and access points skillsets would be given extra consideration
