Position will be remote, but supporting the government client based out of Sterling, VA and Washington D.C. The candidate will be responsible for conducting business analyst activities and functions necessary for the efficient and effective operation of major capital projects for the Division. The BA will provide support for multiple large capital projects simultaneously and will work collaboratively with other staff within the Division. Responsibilities shall include assisting in the establishment of priorities and management of time within constraints.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in business and management, information systems, computer science, or another related field
- 2-3 years of industry experience
- Hands-on agile experience
- Strong analytical and communication skills
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Must be a self-starter/self-directed member of the team
- Agile certification preferred
- Elicit and understand the client’s business needs and mission, define requirements, write user stories, manage a product backlog and develop prototypes for the proposed solution
- Study existing business processes, programs, and legacy systems in their native environments, perform a comprehensive analysis of existing problems and understand the areas for improvement
- Analyze and design the proposed solutions while facilitating the development of multiple solution options to address business needs
- Collaborate with developers and test engineers to ensure teams understand the customer’s functional and technical requirements
- Prepares project documentation, including meeting minutes, business process documents, and other process workflow diagrams as required
- Assists the implementation team in conducting the User Acceptance Testing of the developed solution
Candidate should be knowledgeable in the operation of office equipment (computers, copiers, fax machines, labelers, etc.) to scan, file and/or store both electronic and paper documents for future reference. In addition, he/she should be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
