We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our team and dive headfirst into providing system engineering and logistics acquisition support for the modernization of the MUOS ground system. This position is contingent upon award of the contract. The position will be based at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) facility in San Diego, CA.

This person will have primary responsibility for leading the Ground System Network team in collaboration with Government counterparts. Principal duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, development, test and sustainment planning of the ground system hardware and software.
  • Reviewing the overall ability of the ground network design and/or design changes to provide suitable and effective performance metrics, pinpoint failed components, accurately display system health and status, and accurately predict system behavior in various loading scenarios.
  • Identifying risks and improvements for next generation ground systems components.
  • Reviewing current methods employed to monitor system utilization and optimization and provide recommendations for enhancements. Conducting technical trade studies on aspects of future generation standards for incorporation into existing infrastructure, including advantages, disadvantages, risks, cost, and schedule.

Qualifications:

Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance

  • 10+ years of experience Supporting global DoN or DoD networks including familiarity with the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS)
  • Experience leading network architecture design, analysis, testing and implementation activities.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Current IAT Level III Certification
